Andersen boosts its law practice
On 1 February 2020, two attorneys Katarzyna Komulainen and Leszek Rydzewski join Andersen. This two-partner addition will significantly increase capabilities of Andersen in Poland.
Katarzyna will focus on compliance and white-collar crimes. The addition of Katarzyna Komulainen also strengthens the practice of disputes and litigation. Katarzyna Komulainen will also continue to work for entities from the fintech sector.
Leszek Rydzewski will continue his career at Andersen as the specialist for the banking sector who stands out on the market. He will also be responsible for developing the practice of disputes and litigation in the Warsaw office of Andersen.

Leszek Rydzewski is an attorney with more than 20 years of experience in advising and representing the Polish and foreign entrepreneurs, in particular in the financial sector. A graduate of the University of Warsaw (Law, honours degree), including a course in English and EU law in cooperation with the University of Cambridge, and Universidade Católica Portuguesa in Lisbon (LL.M.in International Trade and Business Law). Leszek is the Partner at Andersen in Poland.
He has assisted in all types of financing (including LMA-based loan documentation) and debt instrument funding, advised in debt restructuring and represented creditors in debtor insolvency proceedings and disposals of assets foreclosed as loan security. He supports clients in financial regulation matters) and review of financial products. Leszek has been representing businesses in litigation (including banking cases) and arbitration cases.
In addition, he has also represented investors in acquisitions of private and public companies and he gained experience in working with the telecommunications and energy sectors and managed banking and bankruptcy practices, awarded by Legal 500, Chambers Europe, Polityka Insight and IFLR.
Katarzyna Komulainen is an advocate with over 15 years of experience having worked for Polish and foreign entrepreneurs as well as individual clients. She is a graduate of Faculty of Law at the University of Lodz. She also studied at the University of Lapland in Rovaniemi, Finland. Katarzyna is the Partner at Andersen.
She specializes in legal consultancy in commercial criminal law, so-called White Collar Crime, compliance, commercial litigation and fintech financial institutions.
She has represented companies acting as an auxiliary prosecutor in criminal proceedings against persons acting to their detriment. As a defense attorney, she represented individual clients in criminal as well as fiscal – criminal proceedings, in particular with respect to the responsibility of management board members of capital companies.
She conducted a number of compliance projects in particular with respect to implementing anti-money laundering procedures, “whistleblowing” procedures and anti-corruption procedures, protecting the interest of clients.
She represented companies in commercial litigation before civil and administrative courts as well as in arbitration, including cross-border aspects and provided comprehensive legal advice to the fintech financial institutions within the scope of their business activity.
She is an author of publications and a speaker at seminars on commercial criminal law, commercial litigation and compliance.
