On Friday, 14 June 2024, the Sejm approved all changes submitted by the Senate to the whistleblower protection bill and forwarded the bill to the President for signature. Consequently, employers will soon need to face a number of new responsibilities from setting up channels for making reports through processing the reports to keeping proper records and protecting whistleblowers’ personal data.

The Whistleblower Protection Act has been long awaited. This legislation will be widely discussed by employers in the second half of 2024. As the adoption of the Act has been delayed, both employees and employers, particularly those that belong to groups of companies which have already implemented the relevant procedures, are waiting for the new law.
