European Partner Spotlight: Greece
This month, Anastasios Triantafyllos, Partner at Andersen in Greece, explores how Greece has shifted from a bureaucratic, declaration-based system of recording working hours to a real-time digital monitoring framework. The introduction of the Digital Employment Card is analyzed in detail, highlighting its objectives, implementation challenges and early results across various sectors.
Poland – key findings:
- Paid internships – mandatory remuneration of at least 35% of the national average wage.
- Childcare allowance – stricter rules for foreigners, requiring PESEL and proof of legal stay.
- Limitation period – employee claims may expire after 20 years if criminal liability applies.
- Posted workers – accommodation costs are not taxable as income.
We hope you find this edition both practical and insightful. If you have any further questions, you are very welcome to reach out to Magdalena Patryas as well as Maciej Pietrzycki.
