Compensation for energy-intensive businesses in 2024
Dear Sir/Madam,
A compensation program for energy-intensive companies will soon be launched for the first half of 2024. A total of PLN 600,000,000 will be distributed to companies that experience an increase in the cost of electricity and natural gas in their operations.
The aid can be sought by energy-intensive businesses, i.e. those that can demonstrate having incurred significantly higher costs for the purchase of electricity and natural gas in 2021, amounting to at least 3% of the value of their production, and whose main activity is in one of the energy-intensive groups of the Polish Classification of Economic Activities (PKD) (groups B and C).
Compensation may be applied for by companies:
- whose main area of activity falls within the Polish Classification of Business Activities (PKD): Group B “Mining and quarrying” and Group C “Manufacturing”,
- whose costs of electricity or gas energy have increased significantly in relation to 2021 – by at least 50% in the eligibility period, i.e. from 1 January to 30 June 2024 in relation to 2021, i.e. the reference period),
- which will prepare a complete set of the required documentation, including an auditor’s opinion for the compensation claim.
Only 14 days will be available from the call for applications, which is a very short time to prepare the required information and the application itself, as well as the auditor’s opinion.
We have prepared a short form for you, in which we ask you, on a non-committal basis, to provide us with some information we need to determine:
- whether the company is eligible for financial compensation due to energy cost increases,
- the amount of compensation you may be eligible to receive.

This information is sent directly to us for the purpose of calculating the amount of potential compensation. We have considerable experience of preparing compensation claims in previous editions of the scheme, backed up by the high success rate of funds awarded. Therefore, once we have received the above information, we will be able to estimate with a high degree of probability the possible amounts you may be able to claim.
