Andersen advised Çalık Energy Industry and Trade Inc. in Poland.

In proceedings for the award of a public contract for the construction of new gas and steam units with a total gross capacity of 1,336 MWe at the Kozienice Power Plant. The law firm’s support covered the procurement proceedings themselves and the negotiation of the EPC contract.

Enea signed a contract with Çalık Enerji worth nearly PLN 6.4 billion net for the construction of two CCGT gas and steam units, each with a capacity of 668 MWe, together with a long-term service agreement LTSA worth USD 170 million net. The units are to be commissioned in 2029.

This is one of the largest investments in modern, low-emission generation capacity in Poland. The procurement process was unusual in that, following the cancellation of an open tender, the contract was concluded through single-source negotiations.

The project confirms our experience in the area of public procurement and strengthens our position in servicing strategic infrastructure investments.
